Mohamed Choucair is a multidisciplinary artist specialized in film and sound. He co-founded the BallroomBlitz in Beirut, a multi-room music venue by night and open-house for artists by day, and has guided its curation and creative direction until 2024. Today, Moe is a part of the Sursock Museum staff, working as its communication officer and public programmer. He performs under diverse monikers, most notably as Bakisa. He has worked on “Air Pressure”, a project by Lawrence Abu Hamdan that has toured international cultural institutions and. was adapted to film. He is also a core team member of radio AlHara, and a resident artist of RadioRaheem hosted by the Triennale Museum of Modern Design in Milan. His latest performance piece, “You are not very famous in Palestine”, premiered in the Venice Biennale of Architecture 2021, and he is at work on a commissioned piece for the Lebanese Pavilion at the 61st Venice Biennale.
